20-1 LBS TEMPURA BATTER MIX

Tempura Batter Instructions - NOT READY TO EAT (NRTE)

  1. Prepare the Batter
    In a mixing bowl, combine 1 lb. tempura batter mix with 14 oz. cold water. Stir until smooth.

  2. Coat the Ingredients
    Lightly coat vegetables or meat in pre-dust, then dip into the prepared tempura batter.

  3. Fry
    Let any excess batter drip off, then carefully place the item into oil heated to 350–375°F.

  4. Set the Batter
    Hold the item suspended in the oil for 5–6 seconds until the batter puffs and sets.

  5. Cook Until Golden
    Continue frying until the tempura is golden brown and fully cooked.

  6. Serve or Hold
    Once cooked, the batter will be crisp and holds well under a heat lamp.
