Onion Blossom Instructions - NOT READY TO EAT (NRTE)

Dry Breaded Onion

  1. Pre-Dust the Onion
    Thoroughly coat a chilled, damp, cut onion with pre-dust. Shake off any excess.

  2. Dip in Batter
    Completely submerge the dusted onion in prepared all-purpose batter.
    Allow excess batter to drain.

  3. Coat with Breading
    Place the wet, battered onion into dry Onion Blossom Breading and coat thoroughly.
    Shake off excess breading.

  4. Deep Fry
    Fry with the onion fingers pointing downward in oil heated to 350°F until golden brown.

Wet Battered Onion

  1. Prepare the Batter
    Mix Onion Blossom Breading with cool water to the desired consistency.

  2. Pre-Dust the Onion
    Coat a chilled, damp, cut onion with pre-dust, then shake off excess.

  3. Dip in Wet Batter
    Submerge the onion in the prepared wet Onion Blossom Batter.
    Allow excess batter to drain.

  4. Deep Fry
    Fry with onion fingers pointing downward in 350°F oil until golden brown.

Optional Tip

Dry Onion Blossom Breading may be used in place of pre-dust, though adhesion will not be as strong.
